  • Hello World Traveler!

Sometimes travel is a walk down the road or a town close by. Sometimes it is spending time with a friend or walking your dog. Traveling is more than where you are going but, discovering who you are and where your faith leads you. You can prepare for a trip with language, food and discovery through found items at an antique store or a thrift shop. A plate from France let say, will transport you for your upcoming destination. Especially if it has French food on it. Pick items or a recipe that you might like to try that you don’t eat regularly. I grew up mainly in California, Arizona and Texas. We tended to eat fresh in seasonal food and surf and turf due to the location where we lived. I recall my father bring home flats of fresh berries and sourdough bread with homemade cream cheese. I currently live in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and we eat differently and even the methods for cooking are very different. The beauty of the ranges never gets boring and the flowers to the waterfalls always makes my hear sing in delight along with the birds and other wildlife. Life can be an adventurer and a joy in celebration of where you are close to home, or looking and tasting new foods and taking in The Lord’s creation. I have been to a few countries outside the United States and discovered new places and new foods too. I have also picked up several cookbooks and prepared some amazing dishes that transported me back to my stays. Let the journey begin as you walk with me with joy in my heart and our dog Joy (Cardigan Welsh Corgi) along the path of life. Just remember that the ultimate destination is not here on earth it’s heaven and the only way to get there in the end is to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior!
